  • Undertook Accountancy Diploma Studies at Dar es Salaam School of Accountancy in Dar es Salaam from 1976 to 1978 and was awarded a National Accountancy Diploma.
  • Undertook Advanced Accountancy Diploma Course at Nyegezi Social Training Centre in Mwanza from 1981 to 1982 and was awarded an Advanced Diploma in Accountancy.
  • Attended Certified Public Accountant (T) – CPA I & CPA II Course at National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) Training Centre in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania from 1984 to 1985 and was recognized as a Certified Public Accountant. Registered as a Certified Public Accountant in Public Practice in 1997 with registration number ACPA 377.
  • Attended Management Skills Course conducted by KPMG Management Solutions in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in 1998.



· Worked at the Ministry of Works and then Ministry of Communications and Works, Accounts Section from 1978 to 1987, rising from a rank of Accountant III to Accountant II.

· Worked as an Auditor at Tanzania Audit Corporation from 1987 to 2003, rising from a rank of State Auditor (Audit Senior) to Chief Auditor.

Mr. Simon Fundi Sayore. Msc., FCCA, FCPA
Chairman and Managing Partner (CMP)


  • Undertook professional accountancy studies in London and completed ACCA examinations in June 1974;
  • Admitted to membership of ACCA in 1977, and advanced to Fellowship in 1980;
  • Obtained a Master of Science in Financial Studies degree at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow in 1980;
  • Attended a lot of courses at different times in the areas of general management, public enterprise management, marketing, public relations, utility regulation, etc. at the University of London, Harvard University, the Irish Management Institute, Florida University, Michigan State University, IP3 Washington, among others;
  • Carried out research in 1987 for the United Nations on Training of Accountants and Auditors for the Public Sector in Tanzania;
  • Carried out research on Japanese Enterprise Management - Lessons for Tanzanian Enterprises, at Hitotsubashi University, Tokyo in 1988/89.


  • Worked in the areas of audit, financial, taxation, and management consultancy at the Tanzania Audit Corporation (then a state professional audit firm) from 1974 to 2003, rising from the rank of a state auditor (audit senior) in 1974 to Director General (Chief Executive Officer) from 1988 to 2003 when the corporation was privatized through a Management & Employee Buy-Out (MEBO);
  • Became the Chairman and Managing Partner of the successor to Tanzania Audit Corporation (TAC Associates - Certified Public Accountants) from 2003 to date;
  • Has been a member of various technical task forces formed by the government, (including the establishment of Tanzania Railways Corporation in 1977)
  • Has been Examiner (setter and moderator) of NBAA professional examinations in Auditing and Investigations (1981 - 1988).
  • Has been External Examiner - Dept. of Accounting of the Faculty of Commerce & Management, University of Dar es Salaam, for three years, 1983/84 to 1985/86.
  • Has been a board member of various institutions of learning in Tanzania, including, the Institute of Finance Management, the Institute of Accountancy Arusha, the Faculty of Commerce at the University of Dar es Salaam;
  • Has been a member and chairman of various committees of the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) from 1981; a member of the Governing Board of NBAA from 1993, and Chairman (NBAA) from 2001 to-2007;
  • Has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Loans and Advances Realisation Trust (LART) from 1993 and its Vice-Chairman from 1996 to 1999.
  • Has been a Commissioner of the Presidential Parastatal Sector Reform Commission (PSRC) from 2000 and Vice Chairman of the Commission from 2003 to 2007;
  • Has been Chairman of the Board of Directors, Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA), from June 2006 to June 2015.
  • Has been a member of the Audit Committee of the Tanzania Education Authority from 2012 to date.

Mr. Boniface Lengaki Mariki. Msc., FCCA, FCPA

  • Studied accountancy at South West London College (UK) and completed ACCA examinations in 1975.
  • Admitted as a Member of ACCA in 1978 and advanced to Fellowship in 1981.
  • In 1982 I was awarded a Masters Degree in Financial Studies at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.
  • Undertook a three months Consulting Skills course at Brussels in 1992
  • Obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Management Services and Information Systems at the University of Manchester in 1998.
  • Attended various short courses in accounting, auditing and management.


  • Joined Tanzania Audit Corporation as an audit senior in March, 1975 and in April, 1976 I was advanced to the post of Audit Supervisor (State Auditor) responsible for leading and supervising audit engagement teams for medium and large clients.
  • Promoted to the post of Senior Supervisory Auditor (Assistant Chief Auditor) in 1978 responsible for supervising audit teams of three to six people to audit large size clients.
  • In 1979 I was promoted to the post of Audit Manager (Chief Auditor) and Head of Department "C" which had over 50 clients and staff compliment of thirty two people.
  • In 1989 I was promoted to the post of Director of Audit incharge of three departments and one zonal office with a total of over 200 audit clients and 120 staff.
  • Appointed as Director of Consultancy in 1994 incharge of Directorate of Consultancy which had six departments namely, tax, financial, human resource management, computer, secretarial and legal departments.
  • Following the government divestiture process which through MEBO placed Tanzania Audit Corporation in the hands of TAC Associates in 2003, I was appointed to the post of Lead Partner Audit and consultancy to date.

Audit Junior/Senior with the then Tanzania Audit Corporation as Audit Assistant and then Assistant State Auditor.


Responsible for a broad range of both industrial, commercial and service oriented statutory audit clients.


Principal responsibilities included planning and execution of audits, final accounts preparation and drafting of management letters.


· 1986 - 1994

Audit Supervisor still with the then Tanzania Audit Corporation as State Auditor, Senior Auditor and then Principal Auditor leading audit teams of three (3) up to six (6) members.


Together with the normal statutory audits as mentioned above, Mr. Mrutu was involved in high profile special investigative audit assignments since 1986 even to-date.

Still with Tanzania Audit Corporation, Mr Mrutu was transferred to Financial Consultancy Department at its initial formation and re-designated as Principal Financial Consultant.


· 1997 - 2007

Chief Financial Consultant, still with Tanzania Audit Corporation, heading Financial Consultancy Department of three (3) members, up to 2002 when Tanzania Audit Corporation was privatized from being a Government Institution and became TAC Associates with effect from 2003.


As a Financial Consultant in various capacities, Mr. Mrutu was involved in various consulting assignments including supervision and coordinating assignments of Development of Accounting Manuals, Financial Regulations, Development of Internal Audit Manual, Business and Share Valuations, IPO Reporting Accountant, Companies Performance Reviews, Review of Feasibility Studies, Reviews of Updated Financial Regulations, Supervision of Receivership assignments, Facilitating finalisation of financial statements, Preparation of interview questions for other institutions’ heads of finance departments as part of those institutions’ recruitment procedures, etc.

Chief Financial Consultant with TAC Associates was re-designated to Associate Partner- Financial Consultancy.


Together with financial consultancies as mentioned above, Mr Mrutu is also involved in Statutory audits, Special investigative audits and Executive Selection exercises where necessary including also overseeing Tax Consulting Department since 2013.
